Health concerns you can discuss with us.
Our clinical work includes pain, digestive concerns, sleep and stress, women's health, and persistent or complex symptoms. The examples below describe concerns we assess. We consider your health history, existing diagnoses, medications, and ongoing medical treatment when discussing care. Suitability and expected benefits vary by condition and by the treatment being considered.
Musculoskeletal Pain
Back and neck pain, shoulder or knee discomfort, and osteoarthritis-related pain.
Sports & Work-Related Strain
Overuse discomfort, repetitive strain, muscle tension, tennis elbow (网球肘), and pain that limits activity.
Headaches & Migraine
Recurring migraine and tension-type headaches, including chronic tension-type headache (慢性紧张性头痛), with care goals guided by frequency, severity, and daily impact.
Selected Nerve-Related Symptoms
Selected numbness, tingling, or nerve-related pain after appropriate medical evaluation, including post-shingles nerve pain (postherpetic neuralgia), trigeminal neuralgia (三叉神经痛), and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN, 化疗所致周围神经病变(手脚麻木)). Suitability depends on the underlying cause.
Digestive & Gastrointestinal Concerns
Bloating, abdominal discomfort, constipation, loose stools, selected reflux- or IBS-related symptoms, and functional dyspepsia (功能性消化不良).
Sleep & Stress-Related Concerns
Difficulty falling or staying asleep, stress-related tension, and symptoms that fluctuate with stress.
Allergies & Selected Respiratory Symptoms
Seasonal nasal allergy symptoms, including hay fever (花粉症), and selected stable respiratory complaints, considered alongside appropriate medical care.
Fatigue & Daily Function
Persistent tiredness, reduced stamina, or difficulty returning to usual routines. We review suitability and whether further medical evaluation is needed.
Menstrual & Pelvic Concerns
Menstrual discomfort, cycle-related symptoms, primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps, 原发性痛经), and selected pelvic complaints alongside gynecological care when needed.
Menopause-Related Concerns
Hot flashes, sleep disruption, and other concerns during the menopausal transition. We discuss realistic expectations for care.
Selected Urinary & Pelvic Symptoms
Assessment for selected symptoms such as stress urinary incontinence (压力性尿失禁), including leakage with coughing or exercise, and whether electroacupuncture may be suitable.
Cosmetic & Facial Care
Facial acupuncture for patients interested in care for their facial appearance. We discuss goals and realistic expectations before starting.
Chronic & Recurring Concerns
Symptoms that persist, recur, or continue to affect daily life. Existing diagnoses, medications, and prior treatment help guide assessment.
Complex & Overlapping Symptoms
Several concerns occurring together, or a complicated health history that needs more time to review. We establish priorities and assess where Chinese medicine may fit.
Illness & Treatment-Related Symptom Care
Assessment of pain and selected symptoms during or after medical treatment, including cancer-related or treatment-related pain and dry mouth related to radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Goals focus on symptom burden and daily function alongside your medical care.
Weight Management Support
Discussion of weight-related goals within a wider plan that includes nutrition, activity, sleep, and medical care. We assess whether acupuncture has a role and discuss its limitations.
Our role is outpatient care alongside appropriate medical evaluation and treatment. If your concern is not listed, contact us to discuss whether an initial visit may be appropriate.
We review your response, adjust care when needed, and recommend further evaluation or referral when appropriate.

What Does the Research Say?
Acupuncture has been studied for many health concerns. Evidence varies by condition and by the treatment used. Research suggests benefit for some pain conditions, including back and neck pain, knee osteoarthritis pain, and migraine prevention. Other uses have less certain evidence. We consider the research, your medical history, and your response when discussing care. The clinical areas listed here describe concerns we assess; they do not imply the same level of evidence for every condition.
